Biological Activity of an Epilobium angustifolium L. (Fireweed) Infusion after In Vitro Digestion
Abstract
An in-vitro-digested fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium) infusion retained phenolic compounds and showed selective cytotoxicity toward human colon adenocarcinoma cells (HT-29, CaCo-2) while sparing normal colon epithelium, supporting the antioxidant and gastrointestinal-protective activity of the traditional fireweed tea.
