Saponaria officinalis L. and Achillea millefolium L. as possible indicators of trace elements pollution caused by mining and metallurgical activities in Bor, Serbia
Abstract
Saponaria officinalis (soapwort) and Achillea millefolium were evaluated as bioindicators and phytoremediators of trace-element pollution near mining and metallurgical activities. Soapwort showed high enrichment of As and Cd and was recommended for phytoextraction of Pb-, As- and Cd-polluted soils, informing the safe sourcing of soapwort raw material.
